Dr Richard is the principal dentist at Murrumba Downs Family Dental and has been providing exceptional dental care since graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from James Cook University in 2014. With over 10 years of experience working across both metropolitan and rural communities in Australia and New Zealand, Richard brings a broad and compassionate perspective to his practice.

He is passionate about helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles through a personalized approach to care that balances function and aesthetics. Richard understands that every patient is unique, and he takes the time to tailor each treatment plan to individual needs, ensuring comfort, clarity, and long-term results.

Committed to clinical excellence, Richard stays at the forefront of dental advancements through ongoing professional development. He has completed extensive training, including a postgraduate residency in orthodontics, and regularly integrates the latest technologies and techniques into his practice.

Outside the clinic, Richard is a firm believer in the power of healthy living. He is currently training for the full Brisbane Marathon and enjoys educating patients on the important link between oral health and overall well-being.

Cynthia is a Brisbane north side local. She completed her Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Queensland in 2008. Cynthia moved to Rockhampton in Central Queensland where she worked at the Base Hospital. In 2010, Cynthia also began working for a private practice in Rockhampton. After two and a half years in Rockhampton, Cynthia moved back to Brisbane. She has continued to practice in both the public and private sectors, in north Brisbane for the past eleven years.

Cynthia enjoys performing all aspects of general dentistry and strongly believes in the prevention and conservative management of oral diseases. Cynthia takes pride in her patient’s experiences. It is her main priority for patient’s to have positive experiences, especially for those who are particularly anxious, young or just young at heart.

Cynthia is also dedicated to continual professional learning so she can provide the best level of oral health care possible.

Outside of dentistry, when she’s not chasing after her two young children, Cynthia enjoys participating in social sport. She also enjoys travelling and is an avid foodie.

Fred is one of our senior dentists at Murrumba Downs Family Dental. Fred is passionate about providing high quality dental care for all patients. Born and raised in Brisbane, Fred has many ties with the local community. He is popular with patients for his down to earth nature and painless dental work.

Fred was offered a dentistry position at the University of Queensland with a full 5 year UQ Excellence Scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Queensland (2011) with numerous academic awards. Fred has a real love for dental knowledge, and has completed a post-graduate Masters in Clinical Dentistry in Dental Implants from Griffith University (2015). In early 2023, Fred was accepted as a Fellow of the International Dental Implant Association. In March 2023, Fred was accepted as a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Fred has also completed the Comprehensive Orthodontic Course at the International Academy of Advanced Dentistry (2018) and is an accredited Invisalign and SomnoMed provider. In 2019, Fred was accepted into the Australian Dental Association Queensland (ADAQ) Committee Member for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) which he served for 1 year.

Fred is particularly interested in implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and wisdom teeth extractions. Outside of clinical work, Fred has a keen interest in research. He has finished a thesis literature review. Fred’s appetite for on-going learning is insatiable. He has recently completed the Periodontics and Soft Tissue Mini-Residency with Dr. Sheng at the International Academy of Advanced Dentistry (2022), and has recently completed the Comprehensive Implant Course with Dr. Alex Loh in Melbourne.

Fred likes to give back, and has spent time abroad doing dental charity work. Fred has spent 3 weeks in Cambodia providing dental care to the nation’s most needy children in 2014, 2017 and most recently 2019. This has come to a halt temporarily due to Covid-19!

Outside of dentistry, Fred enjoys squash, cycling, skiing, wakeboarding and spending time with his young daughter, wife, family and friends.

Dr Rob graduated from his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from James Cook Univeristy in 2015 and completed a Masters of Clinical Dentistry with a major in Oral Surgery at Griffith University in 2022. He is also an inducted member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Rob’s training and passion for oral surgery allows him to provide seamless wisdom tooth removal and other oral surgery procedures. He can also help those more anxious patients through their procedures using sedation techniques such as inhalation sedation (happy gas).

Rob enjoys playing soccer and taking his car to the race track. He fills the majority of the rest of his free time with his partner and dogs.
